Prof. Auricchio @ National Academy of Sciences

During the second annual assembly of the National Academy of Sciences, held on November 6, prof. Ferdinando Auricchio from the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the University of Pavia held the lecture entitled “3D printing: an enabling and fascinating technology. From the science of materials to modeling, from surgery to civil engineering”.

Prof. Auricchio was nominated National Member (in “supernumerary”) in 2018.

The National Academy of Sciences was founded in 1782 on the initiative of Antonio M. Lorgna, mathematician and hydraulic engineer, together with the forty most eminent italian scientists, including Lazzaro Spallanzani, Alessandro Volta, Lodovico de Lagrange, Ruggero Giuseppe Boscovich: hence the current name of “Società dei Quaranta” (today “Academy of the XL”).
